Ackermat's President, Joe Matesa, received a BSEE in 1987 and MSEE in 1990,
both from the University of Pittsburgh. Since then, he has developed electronic
circuits for applications ranging from sonar to mass spectrometers to large motor
drives. He has built test equipment for in-house impulse testing of insulation
systems. He was Project Manager and Principal Investigator in a development program
to build compact static VAR compensator for utility applications. In 1992, he
invented a novel method of testing utility distribution transformers for
"K-factor" harmonic loads. He has consulted on control electronics for a
large respiratory care equipment manufacture. Recently, he has worked to develop new
high-power motor control circuits for industrial municipal applications. Ackermat's Chief Operation Officer, Claudine Matesa, received a BSEE in 1987 and MSEE
in 1990, both from the University of Pittsburgh. From 1987 to 1994, she has
performed hardware and software design for development of various instruments related to
material characterization. From 1994 through 1996, she managed the manufacturing
operations of a rapidly growing producer of electron microscopes and related
equipment. She has consulted on various projects including subcontracting to develop
low-resistance torque measurement equipment for DoD-sponsored investigations |
